ARTIST STATEMENT

Working with glass is one of my great passions. In my view, Glassblowing is an art not only in what it makes possible to create, sculpt or produce, but also in how it is executed, i.e. body movements reminiscent of dance, technique, concentration, the intellect, passions, as well as that sexual, over-the-edge sensation of working soft molten glass with burning tools. Developing an idea for a piece in an abstract way and then going ahead and producing it physically, via heat and motion, with little or no room for error, is very stimulating.
