Espace VERRE’s exhibition From one balance to another, from February 18th to April 9th, is a retrospective of Élisabeth Marier’s glass art career. About thirty years ago, she developed a very personal visual language with glass. "I like to keep the visual language simple. Its interpretation is subtle... The work communicates through the transformed material and the specific shape, a situation’s energy, suggesting a state of being and a mood ".
Élisabeth Marier studied visual arts in Québec. From1982 to 2007, she perfected her art in Montréal, the United-States of America and France, by learning various glass techniques. Pate de verre and lost wax, glassblowing, sand casting, painting on glass, kiln work and enamels on parisons hold no secrets for this artist. Her art work is shown internationally and she has created diverse architectural and environmental integrations. Also, Élisabeth Marier was an active participant in the implementation of the initial Fine Craft educational program in Québec. She taught at Espace VERRE since 1988.
Élisabeth Marier’s work can be contemplated, from February 18th to April 9th, at Espace VERRE.
